Battle of the Test Preps

Grant Writing Workshop: A Basic Guide to Planning, Writing and Submitting a Successful Application

Join us at the Toppel Career Center for a workshop on the basic elements of grant writing. The workshop will focus on the grant writing process and identifying funding sources as it relates to federal funding, as well as grant preparation/planning; writing a grant; submitting the application; and responding to reviewer feedback. This workshop will also include a discussion of the various ways to identify alternative sources of funding, including foundation and industry sources.

The 2013 Continuity Forum – hosted by the abc* Foundation in Miami Beach on November 6th and 7th is the preeminent annual event for leaders thinking about and implementing investment philanthropy in the Americas. More than 500 business, media, and political leaders will spend two days with a handpicked group of 23 social and environmental innovators from the region. This year's speakers include Arianna Huffington of Huffington Post Media Group, former president of Brazil Fernando Cardoso, political analyst David Axelrod, Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Oceanographer Sylvia Earle, Primatologist, Ethologist, & Anthropologist Dr. Jane Goodall, and conservation biologist Thomas Lovejoy, among others. Tasks and duties will range from registration, acting as ushers and greeters, and helping with production assistance.
