Important Change to the University's Payroll Cycle

As the University of Miami continues to streamline its systems, certain business processes will change. Our records indicate that you will be impacted by a change to the University’s payroll cycle.

What's Changing?
Beginning August 8, 2014, pay days for nonexempt employees will be every other Friday instead of every other Thursday. To make this change, your July 24 pay will include 13 days instead of the typical 14 days. Deductions will be taken as usual during this shortened pay period, and therefore, the total amount of this pay will be lower than expected. To prepare for the transition, please make plans for bills and/or payments that need to be made or are automatically scheduled and may be affected by the change to the payroll cycle.

The table below highlights the pay period when the change will take effect and shows the schedule for the remainder of the calendar year. Please note that the pay periods that follow the shortened pay period will each encompass 14 days. Effective August 8, 2014, pay days will be every other Friday even if the University is closed.
