Important Change to the University's Payroll Cycle

As the University of Miami continues to streamline its systems, certain business processes will change. Our records indicate that you will be impacted by a change to the University’s payroll cycle.

What's Changing?
In July 2014, your pay periods will vary slightly in order to align the pay dates for all nonexempt employees throughout the University. To make this change, you will be paid on Friday, August 1, for days worked from July 13-16 (four days), and a check on the following Friday, August 8, for hours worked from July 17-30 (14 days). No deductions will be taken from the August 1 pay; however, deductions will be taken as usual from the August 8 pay.

The table below highlights the pay periods that will be affected by this change and shows the schedule for the remainder of the calendar year. Effective August 8, 2014, pay days will be every other Friday even if the University is closed.

Preparing the Change
To prepare for the transition, please make plans for bills and/or payments that need to be made or are automatically scheduled and may be affected by the change to the payroll cycle. You are also encouraged to speak with your financial advisor or banking institution to discuss ways in which they can be of assistance.
