| Florida Gubernatorial Fellow
Kemarr Brown is an international graduate student in UM's MAIA program. She believes that regardless of origination, we are charged on a daily basis to impact our community.
Since becoming a Florida Gubernatorial Fellow in August 2012, Kemarr has been given a limitless passport to the inner workings of state government and she has already been afforded several opportunities to attend and communicate her vision for Florida.
"Kemarr is a combination of a very bright student whose goal is to ultimately be in a position to help others," said Dr. Luis Glaser, Program Director for the MAIA program. "This fellowship, a first for the University, has given her the opportunity to help communities across our state."
As a Fellow, she is currently working on several enterprise initiatives, and in keeping with her commitment to people first, she has been charged with continuing the dialogue at the state level on human trafficking, an issue that is becoming more prevalent in the state of Florida.
"Being a Gubernatorial Fellow, compounded with the ability to represent the University of Miami, the MAIA program, the South Florida community, and the international circuit at large has been phenomenal."
