Health Insurance

The 2013-2014 health insurance plan is offered by United Healthcare. This plan is designed to be used in conjunction with the services of the Student Health Service and Counseling Center. To obtain greatest benefits, students will need to utilize the Student Health Service first, where treatment will be administered or referral issued; except in the case of medical emergency, maternity, when away from campus, or when the Student Health Service is closed. There is one rate tier for all students. For more information, visit the Student Health Website. To view the health insurance brochure for 2013-2014, please visit the UHC Brochure.

Eligible Coral Gables campus graduate students (RA/TA/GAs, Fellows, and Trainees who are enrolled in Ph.D., D.M.A. and M.F.A programs) are eligible for 70% towards the annual cost of the Student Health insurance plan. Students are eligible for 70% of the cost as long as they have a payroll assignment. To take advantage of this credit, select the payroll deduction option under the employee tab on myUM.
